Rijeka•MidfielderRijeka completed a comeback victory at Istra 1961, overturning an early deficit through clinical finishing and tactical adjustments. Despite Salim Fago Lawal giving the hosts a dream start after just five minutes, Rijeka's response was immediate with Luka Menalo equalizing four minutes later. The visitors' persistence paid off when Tiago Dantas converted a crucial penalty with 15 minutes remaining, securing three vital points that should boost their league position. Istra's early promise faded as they struggled to contain Rijeka's attacking quality, with multiple early substitutions suggesting tactical concerns from the coaching staff.
Istra 1961 and Rijeka will complete their dramatic encounter after their previous meeting was abandoned at 1-1 due to weather conditions. The home side enters on a two-game unbeaten streak, while Rijeka looks to maintain their historical dominance in this Croatian derby.
