Outstanding performance
Gent•AttackerGent delivered a masterclass performance at Standard Liège, with Wilfried Kanga's hat-trick spearheading a comprehensive 4-0 victory that exposed the home side's defensive frailties. The visitors established early control through Kanga's clinical finishing in the opening half-hour, effectively killing the contest before the interval. Standard's desperate attempts to salvage something from the match backfired spectacularly, as their increasingly frustrated approach led to disciplinary issues and further defensive lapses. This emphatic result lifts Gent's confidence significantly while leaving Standard in serious trouble near the bottom of the table, with their poor form continuing to threaten their top-flight status.
