AZ•MidfielderAZ were left frustrated as Excelsior snatched a crucial away point at AFAS Stadion, with substitute Miliano Jonathans equalizing just three minutes after coming on. Troy Parrott had given the hosts the lead midway through the second half, but AZ's failure to build on their advantage proved costly as the visitors responded immediately through their tactical substitutions. The draw represents two points dropped for AZ in their push for European qualification, while Excelsior will be delighted with a hard-earned point against superior opposition. The match was characterized by a cagey first half before both teams opened up after the break, with the decisive moments coming in a frantic final quarter.
