Outstanding performance
FC Volendam•GoalkeeperAjax secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over FC Volendam at home, with defender Youri Baas emerging as the unlikely hero by netting both goals in the first half. The Amsterdam side dominated proceedings early, taking control through Baas's 13th-minute opener before doubling their advantage just past the half-hour mark with another well-taken finish from the same player. Volendam struggled to create meaningful chances throughout the encounter, managing only sporadic attacks that failed to trouble Ajax's defense. This victory extends Ajax's positive momentum in the Eredivisie and demonstrates their ability to grind out results even when star attackers don't find the scoresheet, with defensive contributions proving decisive against lower-table opposition.
