“Bobby Pointon breaks the deadlock with a composed right-footed finish to give Bradford the crucial opening goal”

Port Vale
Bradford City
Bradford City secured a professional away victory at Vale Park, with Bobby Pointon's first-half strike proving decisive in a match that saw the visitors control proceedings without ever hitting top gear. Pointon's well-taken right-footed effort on 31 minutes was the standout moment of quality in an otherwise workmanlike display from Bradford, who defended resolutely and limited Port Vale to few clear-cut opportunities. The home side struggled to break down Bradford's organized defensive shape and lacked the cutting edge needed to trouble the visitors' backline consistently. This result extends Bradford's positive momentum in League One while leaving Port Vale searching for answers in their battle for points.
