Jack Marriott's hat-trick proved decisive as Reading edged a five-goal thriller against Wycombe Wanderers at the Select Car Leasing Stadium. The striker's clinical finishing in the 8th and 44th minutes gave the Royals a commanding first-half lead, but Wycombe showed tremendous character after the break. D. Casey pulled one back early in the second period before Anders Hagelskjær's equaliser looked to have earned the visitors a point. However, Marriott completed his treble just two minutes later to secure all three points for Reading. The victory provides crucial breathing space for Reading in their fight against relegation, while Wycombe will rue missed opportunities to take something from an entertaining encounter that saw both sides commit fully to attack in the closing stages.
