Stockport County secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Northampton Town in a match that showcased their resilience and clinical finishing. After Josh Stokes gave the hosts a dream start with his second-minute opener, County were pegged back by Cameron McGeehan's equaliser just before half-time. The decisive moment came on 58 minutes when Kyle Wootton restored Stockport's advantage, a goal that proved to be the winner despite Northampton's efforts to find another leveller. The victory extends Stockport's good form in League One and maintains their push up the table, while Northampton will rue their inability to capitalise on their first-half momentum after McGeehan's response.
