Outstanding performance

Bielefeld arrived at Münster and put the tie to bed in a breathtaking first-half blitz, scoring three times in 23 minutes to effectively end the contest before the break. Münster drew first blood through Yassine Bouchama in the second minute, but Arminia responded immediately and ruthlessly — Monju Momuluh equalised on 11 minutes, Roberts Uldrikis turned the match on its head five minutes later, and Mael Corboz added a third on 34 minutes to leave Münster reeling. Despite dominating possession with 61 percent and peppering the Bielefeld goal with 17 shots, Münster were wasteful in the extreme, missing all three of their big chances and managing only five shots on target — a damning indictment of their afternoon's work. The hosts' best moment in the second half came via misfortune rather than quality, with Maximilian Großer diverting the ball into his own net on 86 minutes to make it 2-3, a consolation that did nothing to mask Münster's impotence against a Bielefeld side that converted four of 12 shots and showed the kind of clinical edge their relegation-threatened opponents desperately lacked.
