Real Betis secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Valencia at the Benito Villamarín, with Pablo Fornals striking the decisive blow two minutes from time. Valencia looked to be in control after Luis Rioja's well-taken opener midway through the first half, but their advantage lasted mere minutes as Copete's rash challenge handed Betis a lifeline through Chimy Ávila's penalty.
