Outstanding performance
Cultural Leonesa•MidfielderA first half that offered precious little gave way to an absorbing second-half sequence that ultimately defined this La Liga 2 draw. Cultural Leonesa dominated the ball — 61% possession, 509 passes — and converted their pressure into the opener when Lucas Ribeiro Costa finished calmly in the 56th minute, punishing a Real Sociedad II side that had just had Gorka Gorosabel booked. The home side's response was immediate and emphatic: head coach turned to his bench, making three changes at the hour mark, and within sixty seconds Arkaitz Mariezkurrena had drawn them level. Real Sociedad II finished the game with more tackles (24 to 12) and created two big chances they were unable to convert, while Leonesa's inability to find a winner from their dominant position leaves both sides to reflect on opportunities missed in a share of the spoils.

Real Sociedad II look to respond after a painful 3-1 defeat to Albacete when they host already-relegated Cultural Leonesa at the Reale Arena. With the hosts sitting 15th and still with points to play for, pride and momentum are on the line in this Segunda División season closer.
