Outstanding performance
Beşiktaş•DefenderSamsunspor pulled off a crucial victory over Beşiktaş despite the visitors controlling much of the play, with the hosts proving clinical when it mattered most. Carlo Holse broke the deadlock five minutes before halftime, before Tanguy Coulibaly doubled the advantage early in the second half to put Samsunspor in command. Despite Beşiktaş dominating possession (51%) and creating more dangerous attacks (51 to 34), they struggled to convert their territorial advantage into clear-cut chances, managing just three shots on target compared to Samsunspor's five. The match became increasingly frantic in the closing stages as Beşiktaş pushed for an equalizer, with Kristjan Asllani converting a dramatic 90th-minute penalty to set up a nervy finish, but Samsunspor held on for a vital three points that could prove significant in their mid-table positioning.
How entertaining was this match?
Beşiktaş travel to face an unbeaten-in-11 Samsunspor side in a crucial Super Lig derby clash. With the Black Eagles missing key midfielder Wilfred Ndidi and their opponents riding high under Thomas Reis, this promises to be a fascinating tactical battle between two teams with contrasting recent fortunes.
