Gateshead
Braintree Town
Gateshead secured a crucial victory in the most dramatic fashion possible, with Keaton Ward striking in the dying moments to break Braintree Town's stubborn resistance. The match appeared destined for a goalless draw after a cagey affair that saw both sides struggle to create clear-cut chances throughout regular time. Ward's late intervention proved to be the decisive moment in what was otherwise a tactically disciplined encounter, with Gateshead showing patience in their build-up play while Braintree defended resolutely until the final whistle. This result will provide significant momentum for Gateshead's campaign, while Braintree will rue their inability to hold on for a valuable point after a determined defensive display.
