Modern Sport FC looked to have secured a precious three points in their battle against relegation when Rashad El Metwaly struck early, but Petrojet's persistence paid off with Abdul Rasheed Ahmed's dramatic equalizer in the final minute. Modern Sport's defensive approach after taking the lead nearly worked, but heavy rotation from both managers in the second half disrupted the flow and left gaps that Petrojet eventually exploited. The result does little to help Modern Sport's precarious league position, while Petrojet will feel they deserved at least a point after applying sustained pressure throughout the second half. Eight substitutions across both teams highlighted the tactical chess match, but it was individual quality that ultimately decided the key moments.
