Orlando Pirates delivered a commanding performance in the Soweto Derby, dismantling Kaizer Chiefs 3-0 with goals spread across all three phases of the match. Tshepang Moremi set the tone early with a fifth-minute opener, before Oswin Appollis doubled the advantage just before halftime to put Pirates in complete control. Chiefs' frustration was evident through multiple yellow cards and desperate halftime substitutions, but Evidence Makgopa, introduced as a second-half substitute, sealed the comprehensive victory with a 78th-minute strike. The result represents a significant statement from Pirates in what has been a closely contested title race, while Chiefs will need to regroup quickly after this heavy derby defeat exposed defensive frailties and tactical shortcomings.
