Rochdale secured a comfortable 2-0 away victory at Aldershot Town thanks to a clinical Emmanuel Dieseruvwe brace that effectively killed the contest before halftime. The striker opened the scoring on 17 minutes and doubled his tally just five minutes into the second half, capitalizing on Aldershot's defensive frailties. The home side struggled to create meaningful chances throughout and saw discipline issues creep in with multiple bookings, forcing manager to make wholesale changes in search of a response. This result will boost Rochdale's confidence as they continue their National League campaign, while Aldershot face questions about their defensive organization and lack of attacking threat in what was a disappointing home performance.
