Outstanding performance
Al Ahli•MidfielderAl Ahli were the superior side throughout, racking up 20 shots to Al Fateh's 12 and creating 11 big chances to their opponents' two, though an extraordinary conversion rate was not forthcoming — eight big chances were squandered before Ivan Toney's boot ultimately settled matters. The opening goal arrived via the penalty spot on 27 minutes after Abdulaziz Al-Suwailem's foul, but Al Fateh refused to fold and Sofiane Bendebka's equalizer on the hour mark briefly reset the contest. Al Ahli responded emphatically, with Toney converting a second penalty on 76 minutes to restore the lead before completing a match-winning treble in stoppage time, capping a commanding all-round display. The flurry of yellows for Jose Manuel Gomes and Matías Vargas in the immediate aftermath of the second goal illustrated Al Fateh's frustration, and the wave of late substitutions from both benches reflected the match having effectively been decided well before the final whistle.

Al Ahli welcome Al Fateh to Alinma Stadium in a Saudi Pro League clash that carries a sting of unfinished business — Al Fateh handed the Jeddah giants one of their most embarrassing defeats earlier this season. With Al Ahli sitting third and locked in a tight title race, three points are non-negotiable, but Al Fateh's counterattacking threat, spearheaded by Matías Vargas, makes this anything but a straightforward evening.
