Celtic•DefenderCeltic looked to be cruising to victory after taking a commanding 2-0 lead through Reo Hatate's early opener and Auston Trusty's goal just before halftime, despite being reduced to ten men following Hatate's second yellow card dismissal. However, Bologna mounted a spirited second-half comeback at home, with Thijs Dallinga pulling one back early in the second period before Jonathan Rowe's equalizer completed the turnaround. The result leaves both teams sharing the spoils in what proved to be a thrilling Europa League encounter, with Celtic's defensive resilience ultimately undone by Bologna's persistence in front of their home crowd.
