Damoth Thongkhamsavath's brace proved decisive as Đông Á Thanh Hoá secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Công an TP.Hồ Chí Minh in what became a tale of two halves. The Laotian striker opened the scoring early before Peter Makrillos leveled for the hosts with a swift response, setting up an entertaining first half that saw three bookings and forced Công an into early tactical changes. Thanh Hoá showed greater composure after the break, with Thongkhamsavath's 74th-minute winner capping a disciplined away performance. This result will boost Thanh Hoá's confidence significantly while leaving Công an to rue their inability to capitalize on home advantage despite making multiple substitutions to change the game's momentum.
