Macarthur secured a crucial away victory that looked comfortable until Auckland's dramatic late surge nearly stole a point. Rafael Duran's early opener set the tone for the visitors' clinical approach, with Tomislav Uskok doubling the advantage before halftime to leave Auckland facing an uphill battle. The home side's triple substitution at the interval transformed their tempo, but it wasn't until the final moments that Jake Girdwood-Reich's strike gave them hope of salvaging something from the match. Luke Brattan's time-wasting yellow card in the dying seconds highlighted Macarthur's determination to see out a result that strengthens their position in what appears to be a competitive title race.
