Perth Glory looked to be cruising to victory after a blistering start saw Sebastian Despotovski and Adam Taggart put them 2-0 up within 17 minutes, capitalizing on early defensive lapses from the Mariners. However, Central Coast showed tremendous character to fight back, with Ali Auglah's 37th-minute strike sparking hope before Bailey Brandtman's 66th-minute equalizer completed a remarkable comeback. Despite dominating possession (52%) and outshooting Glory 20-18, the Mariners were wasteful in front of goal, missing four big chances compared to Perth's perfect conversion rate. The result extends both teams' inconsistent form, with the Mariners unable to capitalize on home advantage while Glory will rue letting a commanding lead slip away.
