Simba looked to be cruising to a comfortable victory after Shomari Kapombe and Yusuph Kagoma struck in quick succession before halftime, establishing a commanding 2-0 lead. However, ES Tunis showed championship resilience in the second half, pulling one back through Aboubacar Diakité on 64 minutes before substitute Kouceila Boualia completed a remarkable comeback with 11 minutes remaining. The draw maintains both teams' Champions League ambitions, with Simba's early dominance ultimately counting for nothing as their inability to close out the match cost them crucial points in what promises to be a tight group stage campaign.
