Outstanding performance

Philadelphia Union laid waste to Orlando City despite being outpossessed and out-passed by a huge margin, proving that clinical finishing trumps control when it counts. A penalty and quick-fire finish from Milan Iloski inside the first 19 minutes set the tone, and Indiana Vassilev's goal just after the restart turned a comfortable lead into a rout before Iloski added his third. Orlando, who dominated the ball at 64% possession and out-passed the hosts 573 to 310, simply couldn't find their attacking rhythm until the game was already gone, managing only two shots on target compared to Philadelphia's nine. Iván Angulo and Martín Ojeda's late goals gave the visitors a respectable scoreline but came far too late to change a result that was effectively decided before halftime, with Philadelphia's 20 shots and six big chances created showing just how ruthless they were on the counter.
