Al Shahaniya secured a crucial 3-0 victory over Umm-Salal SC in what proved to be a tale of two halves at the Stars League. After a goalless first 45 minutes marked by disciplinary issues, the hosts found their rhythm in the second period with Lotfi Madjer breaking the deadlock in the 63rd minute before Jawad El Jemili doubled the advantage five minutes later. The win provides vital breathing room for Al Shahaniya in their battle to climb away from the lower reaches of the table, while Umm-Salal's struggles continue as they failed to capitalize on their opportunities despite showing glimpses of promise in the opening period.
Al Shahaniya host Umm-Salal SC looking to avenge a 2-0 defeat from their last meeting in August. Both teams enter on positive streaks, with the visitors holding a slight historical advantage but struggling in recent away trips to Al-Khwar Stadium.
