3 – 2
Did it deliver?
The match over-delivered for the fixture. Five goals, three of them in a frantic spell after the hour and a nervy finish made for a far livelier afternoon than the pre-match billing suggested.
Lillestrøm won despite having only 30% of the ball. They sat deep, absorbed Brann's 86 dangerous attacks and 8 corners, and made their chances count, creating five big chances to Brann's two. Gulbrandsen's 23rd-minute opener, set up by Nyheim after a spell of set-piece pressure, gave them an early lead. Brann equalised through substitute Kristian Eriksen within two minutes of his arrival, but Felix Vá struck almost immediately to restore the lead and added a third at 80′, again from a Nyheim assist. Noah Holm's 86th-minute goal made the finish tense, but Brann's 70% possession and 595 passes produced too little in the final third, with only four shots on target. The result is a valuable one for Lillestrøm in the table, while Brann leave frustrated at being punished on the break despite controlling the game.
