Outstanding performance
Unión Santa Fe•MidfielderUnión Santa Fe secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Instituto in an entertaining Liga Profesional encounter that came alive after an early flurry of substitutions. Cristian Tarragona's towering header from close range broke the deadlock just before halftime, capitalizing on sustained corner kick pressure. Instituto's response was immediate after the break, with substitute Luca Rafaelli leveling from the six-yard box just three minutes into the second half. However, Mateo del Blanco's clinical left-footed finish from a difficult angle on 55 minutes proved to be the winner, coming against the run of play after Instituto had created promising chances. The result maintains Unión's positive momentum while leaving Instituto to rue missed opportunities in what became an increasingly fractious affair with multiple bookings in the final stages.
