Outstanding performance
Banfield•AttackerBanfield delivered a commanding second-half performance to secure a convincing 3-0 victory over Newell's Old Boys at home. After a cagey first half marked by multiple bookings and half-time substitutions, the match came alive when Tiziano Perrota broke the deadlock with a header seven minutes into the second period. The floodgates opened as Mauro Méndez doubled the advantage with a clinical counter-attacking finish in the 67th minute, before Perrota completed his brace with another precise header five minutes later. The victory represents a significant boost for Banfield's league campaign, while Newell's will be concerned by their inability to respond once falling behind, managing no meaningful threat throughout the 90 minutes.
