Outstanding performance
Gimnasia y Esgrima Mendoza•MidfielderBoca looked to be cruising after Alan Velasco and Kevin Zenón goals either side of Sabatini's first equalizer gave them a 1-2 lead by halftime, but Gimnasia's dominance in possession (59%) and shot volume (17 to 12) eventually told. The hosts pushed relentlessly in the second half, unsettled Boca with tactical changes and rising tempers - five yellow cards flew between the 57th and 70th minutes alone - before Sabatini struck again in the 71st minute to level things at 2-2. Boca thought they'd survive the onslaught until Esteban Fernández popped up in the 90th minute off a corner to snatch a point right at the death for Gimnasia. For Boca, sitting in the title race, dropping two points from a winning position will sting, while Gimnasia's resilience and second-half surge will be a real confidence boost given their mid-table standing.
