Waterford United edged a thrilling five-goal encounter against Kerry in this Club Friendlies 3 clash, with Evan McLaughlin's 58th-minute winner proving decisive just two minutes after Sean McGrath had leveled for Kerry. The Blues demonstrated excellent mental fortitude after twice surrendering leads, first when Cian Murphy converted from the spot to cancel out Tommy Lonergan's early opener, then again when McGrath's equalizer threatened to derail their momentum following Conor Carty's first-half strike. This entertaining pre-season victory will boost Waterford's confidence as they continue their preparations, while Kerry can take positives from their resilient fightback despite ultimately falling short.
