Outstanding performance

Cobresal turned a fairly even first half into a statement victory by exploiting the chaos right around the break, with Fuentes and then Luis Pastur and Christian Moreno punishing Coquimbo Unido's defensive lapses in a devastating 19-minute spell after the interval. Despite Coquimbo dominating the underlying numbers — 55% possession, 460 passes, and three big chances created against Cobresal's zero — it was the home side's directness that told, racking up 50 dangerous attacks compared to just 29 for the visitors. Lucas Pratto's introduction off the bench paid dividends with a stoppage-time-adjacent goal in the 86th minute, but it proved too little too late as Cobresal held on. For Cobresal, sitting in a precarious 15th position, this is a much-needed three points to ease relegation concerns, while Coquimbo Unido will rue their wastefulness in front of goal despite generating the better chances.
