“Emerson Negueba put the result beyond doubt in stoppage time, completing the scoring and sealing a 3-1 win for Jeju.”
Jeju United made home advantage count despite being second-best for large stretches, with Daejeon Citizen dominating possession (58%) and dangerous attacks (64 to 48) yet finding themselves chasing the game for most of the second half. Matheus Aiás was the difference-maker, converting from a string of corners in the 30th minute before doubling his tally early in the second half, assisted by Emerson Negueba, who later capped the win with a stoppage-time strike of his own. Daejeon huffed and puffed, pulling one back through substitute Jin-su Seo, but their profligacy in front of goal - despite matching Jeju shot for shot - proved costly. The result nudges Jeju further up the table while Daejeon's inconsistent form continues, their territorial dominance once again failing to translate into points.
