Strømsgodset looked to be cruising to victory after Sebastian Pingel's clinical penalty conversion and follow-up goal within two minutes put them 2-0 up midway through the first half. However, Sandefjord showed tremendous character to fight back despite being reduced to ten men before halftime. Edvard Sundbø Pettersen pulled one back just before the break, and with the numerical disadvantage seemingly spurring them on, Stian Kristiansen completed a remarkable comeback with 23 minutes remaining. The result maintains both teams' decent form in what proved to be an entertaining friendly that showcased Sandefjord's resilience and Strømsgodset's inability to close out what seemed a comfortable lead.
How entertaining was this match?
Sandefjord arrive at Marienlyst Stadion riding a five-game winning streak and recent head-to-head dominance, including a stunning 6-2 victory over Strømsgodset in their last meeting. With the hosts winless in seven and struggling defensively, this friendly could showcase the gulf between these Norwegian rivals.
