Esteghlal secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Fajr Sepasi in a match that swung dramatically in the final stages. The Blues took an early lead through Saeed Saharkhizan's 22nd-minute strike before Mehdi Sharifi restored parity for the visitors just before halftime. With both sides making tactical adjustments through multiple second-half substitutions, it was veteran defender Roozbeh Cheshmi who proved the match-winner with eight minutes remaining, capitalizing on what appeared to be a set-piece situation. The victory provides important momentum for Esteghlal's season, while Fajr Sepasi will rue their inability to hold onto their equalizer during a physical encounter that saw two yellow cards in the closing stages.
