Mumbai City looked to be cruising after Jorge Rolando Pereyra Díaz's early opener was followed by P N Noufal extending their lead to 2-0 within 17 minutes. However, Sporting Delhi showed tremendous character to fight back in this crucial title race encounter. Manoj Mohammed reduced the deficit just before halftime, giving the visitors hope heading into the break. The match turned into a tactical battle in the second half with both teams making multiple substitutions, but it was Matija Babović who salvaged a vital point for Sporting Delhi with his 73rd-minute equalizer. The draw keeps both teams in contention in what appears to be a tight title race, with Mumbai City unable to capitalize on their dominant start.
