Mumbai City salvaged a crucial point in dramatic fashion as Lallianzuala Chhangte's 85th-minute equalizer rescued the hosts from what looked like a damaging defeat. NorthEast United had taken control through Jithin MS's well-taken goal three minutes into the second half, capitalizing on Mumbai's slow start to the period. The Highlanders defended resolutely for much of the contest, frustrating Mumbai's attacking efforts while picking up multiple bookings in a physical encounter. However, Mumbai's persistence paid off in the final stages as Chhangte found the breakthrough when it mattered most, maintaining their position in what appears to be a tight title race based on the high stakes of this fixture.
