“Nahuel Da Silva opens the scoring with a well-taken finish to give Torque the early advantage”
Pivotal
Montevideo City Torque
Defensor Sporting
Montevideo City Torque secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Defensor Sporting in a match defined by early brilliance and late drama. Nahuel Da Silva's 10th-minute strike proved to be the difference, but his dismissal on 57 minutes left Torque to defend their lead with ten men for over half an hour. The hosts showed tremendous defensive resolve in the closing stages, withstanding sustained pressure from Defensor who struggled to break down an increasingly compact defensive block. This vital three points will boost Torque's mid-table position and confidence, while Defensor's failure to capitalize on their numerical advantage highlights their ongoing struggles in front of goal this season.
