Wuhan Three Towns dismantled Qingdao Hainiu with ruthless efficiency, turning a tight opening into a rout through Gustavo Sauer's brace and two Jhonder Cádiz strikes either side of the hour mark. Qingdao briefly threatened a fightback when Malcom Edjouma curled home from outside the box just after the hour, but Wuhan's response was immediate and crushing, adding two more within twelve second-half minutes including Adriano Firmino's woodwork strike setting up Cádiz's second. Qingdao's night worsened when Wei Zixian was shown a second yellow in the 74th minute, and despite dominating territorial stats with more dangerous attacks and tackles, they were picked apart by a clinical visiting side that created eight big chances to Qingdao's four. Song Wenjie's stoppage-time consolation offered little comfort as Wuhan's away-day statement result piles pressure on Qingdao's already shaky mid-table position.
