“Nicolae Stanciu breaks the deadlock after Dalian's sustained set-piece pressure. Two corners in quick succession and a headed attempt from Luo Jing laid the groundwork, before Stanciu found the net to make it 1-0.”
Pivotal“Jinhao Bi is caught offside as Liaoning immediately look to respond, snuffing out their best early chance to draw level and underlining Dalian's defensive organisation.”
“Hongfu Zhang is booked for a foul just minutes into the second half, adding pressure on Liaoning as they chase the game with a man now walking the disciplinary tightrope.”
“Cephas Malele is cautioned for unsportsmanlike conduct, a flashpoint that illustrated the mounting tension as Liaoning grew increasingly desperate to find a way through Dalian's defence.”

Outstanding performance
Dalian Yingbo•MidfielderDalian Yingbo did the hard work early and spent the rest of the afternoon defending what they had. Nicolae Stanciu's 15th-minute finish, the product of sustained pressure that began with back-to-back corners, gave the hosts a foothold they never relinquished. Despite being outpossessed 54-46 and completing fewer passes, Dalian were the more dangerous side — 12 shots to Liaoning's five, 43 dangerous attacks to 25, and four on-target efforts compared to just one from the visitors, who mustered only three saves' worth of threat across the entire match. Liaoning pushed bodies forward in search of an equaliser, which is reflected in their superior ball retention, but a resolute Dalian backline and goalkeeper made it look comfortable. The result is significant for Dalian, who appeared in desperate need of points given their precarious league standing, while Liaoning's inability to convert possession into genuine chances will concern their own survival push as the season heads into its critical phase.
