Melbourne City rescued a crucial point in their AFC Champions League Elite campaign with Benjamin Mazzeo's dramatic 90th-minute equalizer against Buriram United. The Thai side looked set for three points after Bissoli's well-taken 37th-minute strike from the right side of the penalty area, capitalizing on good build-up play from Sandy Walsh's free-kick work. The second half proved far more eventful with a flurry of substitutions and yellow cards as City pushed desperately for an equalizer, finally finding their breakthrough when Mazzeo struck in the dying moments. This draw keeps both teams in contention in what appears to be a tightly contested group stage, with Buriram showing they can compete at this level while City demonstrated the resilience needed for continental competition.
