Rijeka dominated the underlying numbers, controlling 59% possession and out-passing Slaven Koprivnica 464 to 323, yet it was the home side who made their moments count. Tiago Dantas opened the scoring from the spot after Niko Jankovic's own penalty was saved, but Slaven responded through Jon Mersinaj and Lovro Banovec to turn the game around before the hour. Dantas levelled things briefly at 63', but Ilija Nestorovski's quickfire double between the 68th and 74th minutes broke Rijeka's resistance for good, punishing a side that created plenty but couldn't convert its territorial dominance into a result. For Slaven, this is a statement victory built on clinical finishing from six shots on target, while Rijeka will be left to rue their wastefulness despite racking up 75 dangerous attacks and seven corners against just three.
