PivotalOutstanding performance

Katowice controlled proceedings throughout, dominating possession 63-37 and doubling Cracovia's shot count, but their inability to convert dominance into a settled scoreline made for a nervy watch. A quickfire opening to the second half set the tone - Minchev struck seconds after the restart, only for Nowak's penalty to level things within eight minutes, and Wdowiak's finish put the hosts back in front by the hour mark. Cracovia refused to fold, with substitute Lasse Nordås equalizing at 2-2 just three minutes after coming on, before Katowice's bench again proved decisive as Shkurin, on for barely five minutes, headed home the winner in the 90th assisted by fellow substitute Borja Galán. For Katowice, the win papers over defensive fragility - conceding twice despite 63% possession and 22 shots to Cracovia's 16 - while Cracovia will rue missed chances from three second-half substitutes who very nearly salvaged a point on the road.
