Zagłębie Lubin
Katowice
Outstanding performance
Katowice•DefenderZagłębie Lubin made the most of their limited chances, scoring twice from just five big chances created while Katowice, despite dominating possession at 59% and completing 150 more passes, could only muster one big chance of their own. Kamil Nowogoński broke the deadlock right before halftime with a clinical right-footed finish assisted by Josip Corluka, and after a flurry of second-half substitutions from both sides, substitute Michalis Kosidis doubled the lead in the 78th minute off a Igor Orlikowski assist. Katowice pulled one back through an Arkadiusz Jędrych penalty in the dying seconds after a VAR review, but it proved too little too late. The win will be a welcome result for a Zagłębie side sitting mid-table, while Katowice's wasteful finishing despite their territorial dominance continues to be a concerning theme for a club with title ambitions.
