Pivotal“Grasshopper make a double substitution just after the hour mark, reshuffling their ten men to shore up the defensive shape and manage the remaining minutes.”
“A flurry of late bookings, including two on Manex Guibelalde, underline the tension as Thun push desperately for a leveller that never comes.”
Outstanding performance

Thun dominated the ball and territory throughout, racking up 61% possession, 20 shots and 10 corners, but somehow failed to register a single shot on target across the full 90 minutes. Grasshopper, by contrast, made their limited opportunities count, with Samuele Bengondo pouncing on a loose ball from a corner in the 23rd minute to open the scoring. The visitors were reduced to ten men just 15 minutes later when Marco Bürki was sent off for violent conduct, but rather than crumble, Grasshopper dug in and rode out wave after wave of Thun pressure. Nine yellow cards were shown across a bruising and increasingly tense second half as Thun's frustration grew, but their profligacy in front of goal - three big chances missed - proved fatal, handing Grasshopper a huge three points in what looks to be a tight relegation and title-adjacent scrap this season.
