Bohemians
Bohemians advance to the next round of the Europa Conference League qualifying on a nerve-wracking night in Kosovo, edging through 5-4 on penalties after the tie finished level at 4-4 on aggregate. Ballkani came roaring out of the blocks at home, with Valentin Serebe netting inside ten minutes from a corner routine to put the hosts 1-0 up on the night, and Giovanni and Toni Domgjoni extending the lead to 3-1 by the 58th minute, a scoreline that would have eliminated the Dublin side. Patrick Hickey's 88th-minute header, assisted by substitute Dayle Rooney from a corner, dragged Bohemians level on the night and forced extra time, before Douglas James-Taylor's composed penalty conversion and Bajram Jashanica's decisive miss in the shootout sent the Irish side through. Bohemians were the more dangerous side in terms of dangerous attacks across the piece — 103 to Ballkani's 96 — but it was Ballkani's clinical finishing from 20 shots that made this such a compelling contest, with the visitors ultimately relying on set-piece quality and nerves of steel from the spot to see themselves into the next round.
