Outstanding performance

Club Brugge were patient early on, taking the lead through Carlos Forbs' outside-the-box strike in the 15th minute before largely controlling proceedings without running away with it. The floodgates opened after the break, with Nicolò Tresoldi, Han-beom Lee and Brandon Mechele all scoring within an 11-minute burst to turn a narrow lead into a comprehensive rout. Brugge's dominance was reflected across the stat sheet - 59% possession, 16 shots to Genk's 14 but with a far superior 5 shots on target, and a striking 6-2 corner advantage that directly produced two of their three goals. Genk, despite creating two big chances of their own, missed both and never recovered from Rafiu Durosinmi's early yellow card and the concession of a soft set-piece goal, leaving them to reflect on a night where they matched Brugge for raw attacking numbers but were nowhere near as clinical.
How entertaining was this match?
Club Brugge welcome Genk to Jan Breydel Stadion riding a hot streak and sitting fourth, while Genk look to arrest a stuttering season from eighth. History and current form both point strongly in the hosts' favour.
