Outstanding performance
Anderlecht•MidfielderAnderlecht controlled this from the first whistle, racking up 61% possession and doubling their opponents' shot count on the way to a comfortable 3-0 win. A set-piece breakthrough from Tawfik Bentayeb just before half-time settled early nerves, and Anderlecht turned the screw immediately after the restart as Marten Winkler struck twice inside six minutes to put the game out of sight. Zulte-Waregem never found an answer, managing just two big chances all game and being pinned back defensively, with 17 tackles and 11 fouls a testament to a team simply chasing shadows. For Anderlecht this is another statement result to build momentum, while Zulte-Waregem will need to regroup quickly given how comprehensively they were outplayed in every phase of the game.
