Did it deliver?
The billing was undersold in the end: the contest was one-sided, but Swansea's three goals in 25 first-half minutes made it entertaining. Blackburn never made it a real contest, so the match had little tension after the break.
Swansea City were dominant from the start, scoring early through Stephen Eustaquio and having the game won by half-time. They had 67% possession, 20 shots (9 on target) and 69 dangerous attacks to Blackburn's 19, and pressed their visitors into mistakes. Joseph Opoku was involved in the first two goals, Filip Lissah added a third from Stephen Welsh's assist, and Ross Stewart finished a move assisted by Eom Ji-Sung to complete the 4-0 win. Blackburn managed only 2 shots on target and 77% pass accuracy, and were fortunate that goalkeeper saves (5) kept the margin from growing. The result is a big boost for Swansea's promotion hopes, while Blackburn face questions about their defensive structure after such a heavy defeat.
