Outstanding performance

Sturm Graz raced into an early lead through Yusuf Demir's seventh-minute penalty, but Rapid responded almost immediately as Belmin Beganovic leveled just three minutes later, and Marco Tilio completed the turnaround by the 17th minute. From there Rapid controlled proceedings, dominating possession (56% to 44%) and out-passing their visitors 445 to 357, while also creating four big chances to Sturm's none. Substitute Petter Nosa Dahl put the result beyond doubt in the 86th minute, and Sturm's afternoon ended in further misery when Albert Vallci was sent off for a professional foul in stoppage time. Despite Sturm Graz generating more shots overall and more dangerous attacks, their profligacy in front of goal - missing every big opportunity they created, of which there were none registered - contrasted sharply with Rapid's clinical edge in a match that swung entirely in the first 17 minutes.
