Retford FCNorthampton ON Chenecks
Northampton ON Chenecks earned a hard-fought FA Cup victory at Retford FC, grinding out a 1-0 win that reflects the fine margins of non-league cup football. The away side arrived as the higher-profile outfit and ultimately justified that billing, keeping a clean sheet and taking their one decisive chance on the day. Retford, despite home advantage, could not find a way through a resolute Chenecks defensive unit, leaving their FA Cup campaign over at the first hurdle. For Northampton ON Chenecks, the win is a meaningful confidence boost and progression into the next round, while Retford must now refocus their energies entirely on league matters.
