Erith Town vs Eastbourne Town - FA Cup

Erith Town put in a thoroughly professional performance to sweep aside Eastbourne Town 3-0 in this FA Cup tie, controlling the game from first whistle to last and never looking in danger of relinquishing their grip on proceedings. The hosts were clearly the superior side on the day, imposing their structure and physicality on a visiting team that struggled to build any meaningful pressure going forward. For Eastbourne Town, it was a chastening afternoon that will prompt soul-searching about their ability to compete at this level, while the clean sheet will give their defence confidence heading into the next round. Erith Town advance in the FA Cup with their confidence bolstered, a result that underlines their credentials as a side capable of causing problems for higher-ranked opponents as the competition progresses.
