PivotalOutstanding performance

Anderlecht did enough to advance on aggregate despite allowing PAOK back into the tie on two separate occasions, ultimately winning 3-2 on the night and 5-4 across the two legs. The Belgian side took control through Léo Pétrot's opener and a decisive burst either side of half-time — Lukas Ambros striking within seconds of the restart and Sikan doubling the lead before the hour — but PAOK's greater attacking threat, reflected in their four big chances to Anderlecht's two and 57 dangerous attacks, ensured it was never comfortable. The match unravelled spectacularly in the closing stages: a VAR-disallowed goal at 74 minutes temporarily spared Anderlecht, before Alexander Jeremejeff converted a penalty to make it 3-2, then was sent off moments later alongside Andrija Zivkovic in scenes of collective indiscipline that saw four yellow cards handed out in the final twelve minutes. Anderlecht's goalkeeper Colin Coosemans made six saves across a busy evening, and despite being second-best for possession and dangerous attacks, the hosts were ruthlessly clinical when it mattered most.
